Warminster beats Fort Washington Generals 7-6 thanks to big comeback in a rain shortened game on Tuesday night at Munro Park in Warminster. The Fort Washington Generals led by six runs after the second inning, but Warminster put together a furious comeback to steal the victory, 7-6.
Fort Washington Generals jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Fort Washington Generals’ rally started when Justin Horn singled. A stolen base then moved Horn from first to second, and folowing a Tom Reilly double, Thomas Juelke singled, plating Horn. More runs came home for Fort Washington Generals when Mike Reilly and Thomas Juelke scored on a two-run single by Chris Kelly. Singles by Justin Horn, Tom Reilly and RBI singles by JT Breslin and Juelke produced the scoring in the second inning.
Jason Greene threw the first four innings for the Generals allowing 5 runs (2 earned) and striking out 2 with 1 walk. Tom Reilly had a hot bat for Fort Washington Generals going 2-3 and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.
During the Generals at bat in the top of the 5th inning the game was interrupted by a 25 minute rain delay. When the game resumed, Justin Horn took over on the mound and ultimately took the loss for Fort Washington Generals. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs. Warminster never trailed after scoring two runs in the fifth on an error and a sacrifice fly by Jefferies.
The Generals did mount a threat in the top of the sixth after singles by Mike Reilly and Max Weinberg, followed by a double steal, but they were unable to plate any runs. The game was called by the umpires after six and a half innings for time or darkness.
