Seventh-Inning Lead Change Vaults Roslyn Past Fort Washington Generals, 4-3.
A tight game was decided in the seventh inning as Fort Washington Generals fell to Roslyn 4-3 in seven innings on Tuesday with Roslyn plating 2 runs in the top of the seventh to win the game and negating Noel Francyk’s excellent pitching effort.
The game was close for seven innings. Roslyn took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, scoring on a double after a runner reached base on an error. They increased their lead to 2-0 in the third, again scoring on a single after a double. The Generals were able to tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the third. Mike Reilly led off with a single, followed by a walk to Max Weinberg and then a single by David Keller loaded the bases. Singles by Tom Reilly and an RBI single by JT Breslin drove in 2 runs to tie the game.
The game remained 2-2 until the bottom of the 6th when Noel Francyk led off the inning with a double to right center. He scored on a single by Mike Reilly.
Noel Francyk went the distance for the Generals, pitching 7 strong innings and striking out four with no walks. It was a good day at the plate for Fort Washington Generals’ Mike Reilly. Mike Reilly went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the third and sixth innings.
