Early Lead Not Enough For Fort Washington Generals, Drop 5-2 Decision To Warminster
Fort Washington Generals jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 5-2 to Warminster on Friday. A three-run triple by Goodz gave Warminster the lead in the fourth inning. The top of the first saw Fort Washington Generals take an early lead, 1-0. Justin Horn doubled to ignite Fort Washington Generals’ offense, before Tom Reilly singled, bringing home Horn. The lead stayed with Warminster after the fourth, when it scored four runs on a three-run triple by Goodz.
Johnson got the win for Warminster. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Johnson struck out eight, walked two and gave up eight hits. Warminster was sparked by Goodz and Mendez, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
David Keller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just six innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
