Justin Horn did all he could to give Fort Washington Generals a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Roslyn, as Fort Washington Generals lost 6-3 in seven innings on Monday. Horn was solid at the plate for Fort Washington Generals. Reilly held Roslyn in check for 3 innings, however was unable to contain Roslyns offense in the 4th inning. Horn went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning. Chris Kelly also went 2-3 at the plate and scored a run.
Mike Reilly ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out four. Roslyn couldn’t get anything going as long as David Keller was on the rubber. Roslyn managed just one hit off of the Fort Washington Generals’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Ennis got the win for Roslyn. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered six hits.
Fort Washington Generals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third. The Fort Washington Generals attack began with a single from Chris Kelly. A stolen base then moved Kelly from first to second. Horn singled, scoring Kelly.
After posting one run in the fourth, Fort Washington Generals again scored one in the sixth. In the fourth, Fort Washington Generals scored on an RBI single by Noel Franczyk, bringing home JT Breslin. Roslyn went up for good in the fourth, scoring six runs on an RBI double by Nikander, two ground outs, and an RBI single by Yerkes.
These two teams will meet again in the first round of the playoffs Wednesday night at 530. The game will be played Roslyn.
