Fort Washington Generals Beats Warminster 8-5

Justin Horn went 2-5, helping Fort Washington Generals to an 8-5 victory over Warminster on Thursday.Even though David Keller allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory. Keller struck out nine, walked six and gave up eight hits. Fort Washington Generals easily handled Warminster pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, six RBIs and eight runs scored.

The Generals opened the scoring in the top of the first.  Justin Horn led off with a double followed by a walk to Tommy Reilly, who were both driven in on a triple by JT Breslin.  Breslin scored on a sacrifice fly by Noel Franczyk giving Fort Washington a 3-0 lead after the first inning.  They added another run in the top of the second after Justin Horn reached base on a fielders choice, and was driven in on a single by Tommy Reilly.  Fort had another big inning in the third, adding 5 runs on hits by Thomas Juelke, Chris Kelly, Max Weinberg, Justin Horn and JT Breslin along with a walk to Tommy Reilly.  At the end of 3 innings, Fort led 8-0.

Five runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Warminster close its deficit to 8-5. A two-run single by Sliwka, an RBI single by Goodz, an RBI single by Lucas, and an RBI single by Scott gave Warminster life.  Johnson took the loss for Warminster. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The win propels Fort Washington to the next round of the playoffs. They will face Jenkintown at home on Friday. The winner will play Roslyn for the league title.
