McPeak Throws Shutout As Fort Washington Generals Defeats Southampton

IMG_3893Brian McPeak didn’t allow a single run as Fort Washington Generals defeated Southampton 13-0 on Sunday. McPeak allowed just one hit and induced a groundout from Trevor Newhouse to end the game.

Fort Washington Generals scored five runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Matt Hebling, a single by JT Breslin, a fielder’s choice by Jake Dianno, a single by Max Weinberg, and a single by Mike Zicchinolfi.
One bright spot for Southampton was a single by Ed Shead in the second inning.
Brian McPeak earned the win for Fort Washington Generals. He threw five innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out two. Ryan Woolerton took the loss for Southampton. He pitched one and one-third innings, allowing five runs, three hits, and striking out three.
Fort Washington Generals had ten hits in the game. Justin Horn, Breslin, and Zicchinolfi each collected multiple hits for Fort Washington Generals. Zicchinolfi, Breslin, and Horn all had two hits to lead Fort Washington Generals. Fort Washington Generals tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Horn led the way with four.
Shead led Southampton with one hit in two at bats.
