Fort Washington Generals Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Jenkintown

Fort Washington Generals and Jenkintown traded the lead back-and-forth on Sunday, but eventually Fort Washington Generals prevailed 9-5. Fort Washington Generals took the lead for good in the sixth inning. The game was tied at four with Fort Washington Generals batting in the top of the sixth when John Contoudis walked Max Weinberg to drive in a run.

Fort Washington Generals took an early lead in the first inning. JT Breslin singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the first inning, scoring one run.

After Fort Washington Generals scored one run in the top of the fifth, Jenkintown answered with one of their own. Fort Washington Generals scored when Mike Zicchinolfi singled off of John Contoudis, driving in one run. Jenkintown then answered when Contoudis singled off of Noel Franczyk, driving in one run.

Franczyk earned the win for Fort Washington Generals. He tossed six and a third innings, allowing five runs, ten hits, striking out seven, and walking one. Contoudis took the loss for Jenkintown. He pitched five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs, eight hits, and striking out five.

Fort Washington Generals had ten hits in the game. Matt Hebling and Zicchinolfi each collected multiple hits for Fort Washington GeneralsHebling led Fort Washington Generals with three hits in five at bats.

Jenkintown collected ten hits. Contoudis and Jared Smith each collected multiple hits for Jenkintown.
