FORT WASHINGTON GENERALS GRABS LEAD IN SIXTH INNING FOR VICTORY OVER ROSLYN

Fort Washington Generals took the lead late in the game in a 4-1 victory over Roslyn on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Fort Washington Generals batting in the top of the sixth when Greg Cooper doubled off of Nick Henry, driving in one run. Riley Brink’s triple scored Cooper and Brian McPeak’s single scored Brink.

Fort Washington Generals took an early lead in the first inning. Fort Washington Generals scored one run on a stolen base in the first inning.

Roslyn knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fifth inning. A wild pitch by Riley Brink scored one run for Roslyn. Riley Brink earned the win for Fort Washington Generals. He threw three innings, surrendering 1 run, three hits, striking out two, and walking 1. Max Weinberg went the first 3 innings, allowing 3 hits and no runs , striking out 2 with no walks. JT Breslin recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Fort Washington Generals. Nick Henry took the loss for Roslyn. He pitched five and a third innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, striking out five, and walking one.
Brink, Jake Dianno, Brian McPeak, Owen Lawn, Greg Cooper, and Jack Jamison each managed one hit to lead Fort Washington Generals. Matt Hebling and Justin Horn led Fort Washington Generals with two stolen bases each, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Roslyn had seven hits in the game. Ken Adkins and Paul Poppert each collected multiple hits for Roslyn. Roslyn was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Josh Persing had the most chances in the field with six.
