Fort Washington Generals Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning for League Championship over Jenkintown

IMG_9805Fort Washington Generals took the lead late and defeated Jenkintown 2-1 on Tuesday to win The League Championship. The game was tied at one with Fort Washington Generals batting in the bottom of the sixth when Justin Horn lead off with a single and then Matt Hebling executed a perfect hit and run to send Horn to third. The centerfielder in an attempt to throw out Horn, threw the ball away allowing the game winning run to score.
The pitching was strong on both sides. David Keller struck out ten, while Tim MacColl sat down two.
Fort Washington Generals evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning. With two outs in the fourth inning Jake Dianno drove in one run when he singled home Matt Hebling who was hit by a pitch and had advanced to third via two wild pitches..

IMG_9806Keller earned the win for Fort Washington Generals. He went seven innings, surrendering one run, one hit, and striking out ten. MacColl took the loss for Jenkintown. He pitched six innings, surrendering two runs, four hits, striking out two, and walking zero.
Riley Brink, Dianno, Justin Horn, and Matt Hebling each managed one hit to lead Fort Washington Generals.

John Contoudis led Jenkintown with one hit in two at bats.
